Summer Courses for Continuing Stanford Students 2022

The following courses are intended for graduate students currently enrolled in degree programs at Stanford; however, visiting graduate students from other universities are also welcome. The first two are versions of our academic year courses for the 8-week summer session and the remainder are special courses offered in a 6-week session.

  • EFS 691S (meets requirements for 691). Oral Presentation (2 units). Learn the strategy, design, and organization of academic presentations, while developing your English fluency, accuracy and communication style. [dates and times TBA], classes begin week of June 20

  • EFS 698S (meets requirements for 698A).  Writing Academic English (2 units). Prepare graduate students to write academic papers, emphasizing fluency, organization, documentation, and appropriateness for specific writing tasks. [dates and times TBA], classes begin week of June 20

  • EFS 689T.  Interacting in California's Vineyard Culture (1 unit). Learn terminology to talk about wine informally, navigate restaurant wine lists, and interact knowledgeably with restaurant and retail wine staff.  Includes weekly tastings. Participants must be at least 21 years old.  Additional fee of $100.00 (cash only) required at the first class meeting.  To enroll, contact Kristopher Geda -  kgeda@stanford.edu.
