The Persian Language Program at Stanford teaches Persian as a living language to a diverse body of students with a wide range of academic and professional needs. Therefore, courses offered adopt the communicative approach in learning and the interactive approach in teaching to develop all five language skills: listening, speaking, reading, writing and cultural awareness. Students work with authentic audio, video, and text materials. The program curriculum is designed according to the Standards for Language Learning and the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines.

The Persian Language Program at Stanford University offers courses in three levels of beginner, intermediate and advance courses that focus on Media, Spoken Persian, Written Persian and also literature and political texts.

Current course offerings in Persian language can be found in Explore Courses under AMELANG.
